Wrapped!

We finally wrapped the last scene of George, as seen below with Saara El-Arifi playing the love of Mitch's life, Rosa.

It's a good feeling having everything in the can, but now is the mad rush to complete the grade, lay down the sound design and bring the film together.

We owe so much to the owners of Fleetville Vintage Emporium and Scally Dog Collectables, who loaned us a shedload of props and costumes and even use of their spaces to shoot some of the interiors. Without them, George wouldn't look as near as nice as he does.

Hotel Chevalier

I love Wes Anderson. Jim loves Wes Anderson. We all love Wes Anderson.

When writing George, we looked at the films we loved and thought "Hey, lets do that". Granted, our end result isn't a smidgin of an eyelash on anything that's ever spooled out of the heads of any of our idols, but personally, I love watching as much stuff as I can that is similar in tone or style to the film I'm making. As much as that, it's an excuse to watch some of my favourite films.

Our original intention for George was to create something in a vein not too far removed from The Darjeeling Limited or even The Royal Tenenbaums, but as many other influences from Thunderbolt And Lightfoot through to The Big Lebowski began to pile on top of the project, we have come out the other end with a different beast entirely.

Having seen some of The Darjeeling Limited today, I have the overwhelming urge to share some of Wes' work, which fittingly is a prelude of a story to come.

Post Production

We're into Post-production with George, with a couple of scenes signed off to the grade.

It's a fun process choosing a style and look for the film; we're trying to create a washed, vintage look to compliment the reminiscence in the plot and the wistfulness of the story.

These are our two brothers, Julian and Mitch, played by Martin Rees and Robin West respectively.

George

Our current project, George, tells the story of two brothers on a trip to spread their recently deceased brother's ashes.

George is currently in the production stage and will wrap mid-February.
